The objective of this course is to take students with some prior knowledge or ability with small trucks or buses and prepare them for entry level positions in coach bus or truck driving. This course is a combination of classroom and vehicle instruction. A solid foundation will be built in order to enable the inexperienced individual in training on coach bus and straight trucks. CDL permit preparation for the written exam is first portion of classroom training. Students will also receive classroom training on Defensive Driving, Air Brakes, Log Books, Hazardous Materials and Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations. Road and Skill driving can be given all on the coach bus, the straight truck or both. Industry related manuevers will be taught and road test procedures. New York State Road Test at completion of Course (2 tries). Local Job Placement Assistance. School Certificate. DOT Physical and Drug Screen required.



STRAIGHT TRUCK AND COACH BUS COURSE COMBINED
160 HOURS - 4 WEEKS
Monday to Friday

The objective of this course is for students with little trucking or bus background, whose goal is to gain enrty level employment in bus (school or coach) and truck driving. This course combines both classroom and vehicle instruction. A solid foundation will be built in order to enable the inexperienced individual in training on coach bus and straight trucks. Classroom training to include CDL permit Preparation, Air Brake training, Defensive Driving, Hazardous Materials, Department of Transportation Rules and Regulations and Log Book. Road and Skill training to include training on coach bus and straight truck. Industry related maneuvers and road test procedures. Road testing is included (2 tries). Daily grading and progress is monitored on each student. Job Placement Assistance upon successful completion. School Certificate. DOT Physical Exam and Drug Screen Required.
